The Samantha Bell School of Dance was created in 2006 when I decided to change career and go back to dance, converting my teaching qualifications along the way, as I have been a qualified dance teacher since 1997. I started dancing when I was 5 taking part in many competitions and taking my examinations in Russian style ballet, modern and tap. I studied drama and was a member of local amateur operatic societies.
As a new School, we have proved to be very popular and we incorporated the Blackmore Vale School of Dance in 2007. We have had incredible success in our exams with 100% pass rates and we are working on our first School show.
The School has grown significantly in a short space of time and we now have three teachers. Our success is probably down to the fact that we are reasonably priced and not pretentious or elitist.
Jackie Simpson teaches Pilates and exercise to music as well as dance. She has an impressive background in dance in both Switzerland and the UK with lots of experience in jazz dance.
We believe in offering students opportunities to perform, take examinations and participate in workshops. We regularly invite guest instructors to teach workshops in a variety of dance forms including hip hop dance, break dancing, ballet, tap and musical theatre. None of these are compulsory and we try to include people from all different backgrounds.
